Welcome Square is one of the three major squares in the Expo Park. On the square, there is a group of "colorful Yunnan, the place where the elephant goes", which reproduces the "short-nose family" elephant group, the strange journey of the north and south. In March 2020, this group of 15 Asian elephants left the original habitat of Xishuangbanna National Nature Reserve and traveled more than 1300 kilometers back to Northern Liao, passing through three states (cities) and eight counties (cities and districts) of Yuxi, Honghe and Kunming. On August 8, 2021, the Asian elephants safely crossed the main stream of Yuanjiang River. On August 13, the Asian elephants returned to Pu'er in the north, and returned to Yunnan wild under the south safely under artificial guidance, reflects the effectiveness of biodiversity conservation in China. Yunnan is not only a place of "going like", but also a place that people all over the world yearn. Elephants are rolling up their noses high to salute us and welcome everyone to the Expo Park.
